Preconception in Biodynamic Practice

This course begins an advanced series cultivating the perceptual-touch necessary for sensing both embryonic metabolism and cardiovascular physiology. We will focus on exploring the early metabolic fields especially the suction/breathing field, the dilation/expansion field, and the corrosion/restraining field.

Preconception will be taught from the point of view of epigenesis and changes in the human ovum prior to fertilization. Epigenesis refers to the ancestral field of our grandparents and the imprints of stress on the sperm and egg carried through the blood. Cardiovascular movement and the heart’s early formation is a link to ancestry.

Contact with these preconception dynamics can be made with Primary Respiration and Stillness especially as they are located in the zones around the body; the practitioner’s working space and the natural world. Specific zone practices and somatic meditations will be taught relating to preconception dynamics.

Palpation will start with learning to contact the loosening fields at the edge of the whole fluid body which become the blood capillaries and form a window to the entire cardiovascular system. In particular, a cerebral-vascular protocol will be taught.

Educational goals include:

  • Learning the stages of preconception development in the human ovum.
  • Palpating and treating the cardiovascular system.
  • Sensing the early biodynamic metabolic fields.
  • Refining orientation to the zones of perception.
