About Us
Emphasis on personal exploration: A student is expected to reflect on his or her own body experience, explore his or her body image via embryology, develop the capacity for accurately perceiving the world and to tolerate different world views. There is a particular emphasis on issues of touch: developing subtle and professional contact and a mindfulness/awareness approach to boundary formation and ethical behavior. The SEG believes that conscious and well bounded contact and ownership of personal projections are the foundation for therapeutic insight, emotional clarity and spiritual growth to emerge in a healing relationship. We call this self-regulation.
Emphasis on spiritual learning: This organization and its programs focus on freeing the natural sense of wonder, curiosity and happiness. The SEG encourages a Social Emotional Learning model through the development of empathy, the ability to be creative and imaginative with Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and through the most subtle and loving professional touch possible. This is an instinctual ability in the human spirit. We work with psychology, personal process, touch, movement, body awareness, visualization, meditation, and embryology. We consider a session of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy to be a form of prayer. Our training, however, is in no way a substitute for psychotherapy or pastoral counseling when needed by individual students or staff.
